\nOverview The Ocean Centres initiative hosted by the UN Global Compact an
d supported by the Lloyd’s Register Foundation has been set up in seven
 countries – Brazil\, Ghana\, Kenya\, India\, Bangladesh\, Indonesia and
the Philippines. Each centre\, strategically located to address regional s
afety challenges\, will play a vital role in fostering collaboration betwe
en governments\, industry leaders\, and maritime communities. The initiati
ve will foster locally led solutions to the challenges that are to be foun
d in each of the regions. Building on this\, they aim to promote responsib
le business practices in ocean-based economies and influence the creation
of new standards and policies. The Ocean Centres were established through
a partnership between the UN Global Compact (UNGC)\, a leading advocate fo
r sustainability in the private sector\, and Lloyd’s Register Foundation
\, a global charity dedicated to engineering a safer world. They are imple
mented through UNGC Country Networks in seven nations identified by local
 experts during the initiative’s scoping phase: Brazil\, Ghana\, Kenya\,
India\, Bangladesh\, Indonesia\, and the Philippines. Aligned with the glo
bal call for better safety standards and sustainable practices\, the Ocean
Sustainability Executive Dialogue\, hosted by UN Global Compact Indonesia
(IGCN) Ocean Center\, offers a strategic platform to bring together Knowl
edge Partners and Champion Companies in the development and implementation
of the IGCN Ocean Centre. Over the past three months\, IGCN Ocean Centre
has engaged with 15 Knowledge Partners\, including government bodies\, int
ergovernmental organizations (IGOs)\, business associations\, labor unions
\, and various stakeholders related to ocean safety\, to gather valuable i
nsights and expertise on ocean safety and sustainability. These Knowledge
Partners have played an integral role in shaping the foundation of the IGC
