In 2017, Unilever Indonesia organized a Woman in Engineering Unilever Leadership Fellowship (WULF) to introduce non-traditional functions to women. The WULF was the first one in Asian region.

Longer maternity leave to support work life balance has also been enforced. Unilever Indonesia applies a new policy that provides maternity leave for 4 (four) months for the mother and one week for the father to be able to support to his wife.

Unilever’s daycare initiative has been developed to support the performance of female workers. Unilever’s Daycare was originally a daycare program provided by the company for employee children as a solution to support employee productivity, especially when Household Assistance left home during Eid, for approximately 21 days.

During its development, this program became a permanent Nursery and Daycare program at the head office. This facility allows mothers to bring their baby to the workplace with adequate supervision, so that they can work in peace.
